Isabel's Scarecrow, It's a casual thing

On Monday Isabel and I read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. She just kept begging me to read one more chapter and one more chapter until we finished it. This was the first time I've ever seen her completely engaged by a book and it was so fun. We've had lots of discussions about the book and characters since then. Isabel was particularly taken with the scarecrow. While visiting family in Utah this summer she got to see Grandpa Jarrett's farm in Nephi and his scarecrow. With all that inspiration, Isabel decided we should make our own scarecrow, so that's what we did today. It was a lot of fun. The best part was hearing Isabel talk about the scarecrow and his significance in her life. Check out the video for a really good laugh.

Jen - Isable is such a cutie. I loved hearing her thoughts on a "casual husband". Dave just left for Seattle tonight. He has his conference this weekend. I was really hoping to go, but with 3 Walton weddings in one year, we've just bought too many tickets and decided to not make it a family trip to Seattle. I would have loved to see you!

That is too funny!! Isabel is such a smart little girl. I wonder who taught her about a casual husband?!? :) Jen, what are you teaching your child? jk It was so much fun seeing you guys this summer and I'm so glad to hear you are doing well! We love you guys and are always in our prayers.

Thanks Heidi. Kids are so funny. Whenever Isabel is figuring out a new word she experiments with it until she figures out what it means. I guess "casual" is the latest:) We miss you too! It was wonderful to see little Annabelle - she is a doll.

Love you,

Jen

Hi, I just found your blog while looking for LDS homeschoolers that use TJEd. (We just started using TJEd.) I hope it's alright if I read your blog! :)

I'm glad you found me! I love connecting with other TJEDers. What state are you in?

We live in Mesa, AZ. I was just up in Washington visiting my sister in Port Orchard over the summer! I love it up there!
